During our honeymoon, my wife and I were lucky enough to have a local point out several great spots to eat and this was first on the list. While open only for breakfast and lunch, this place is worth getting up for. My breakfast was the most flavorful thing I had all week and even though it's a Cajun place, I had the best Belgian Waffle I think I've ever Had! No wonder this place has won awards. I saw some reviews elsewhere complain about cleanliness, etc but it was in great shape during our visit so don't let that deter you (and hey, remember it's a Cajun place!). Best food on our entire honeymoon!
Best breakfast I've had on vacation. The andouille sausage gravy over biscuits with their grits were absolutely awesome. I've never threatened to bite my wife if she tried to have a taste of something from my plate... Before today. Very clean and cozy. Friendly staff and very good price point. This is Cajun comfort food that is well seasoned without burning your mouth to shreds. Perfect balance of heat and seasoning even for people who don't like spicy foods. This is now one of our new beach favorites! Eat here!
I was very excited about eating here during my vacation. The reviews were really good so I knew I found a winner. When we entered the establishment it was very smoky but I ignored that and was still eager to order something off their menu...so many good selections. As I was looking over the menu I noticed something crawling on the wall. It was a ROACH!!! A FULL GROWN ONE! I informed the server and she didn't appear that shocked. I never got around to the food...i immediately left. Disgusting experience!!!
Always an amazing experience. Unique specials that never disappoint and great tasting options from the top to the bottom of the menu. You'd have to be a very angry elf to dislike this place. Family owned and operated.
I agree with the small and cozy atmosphere. A piano in the dining room encourages someone to sit down and play some Jazz or Zydeco. The food is amazing! It is seasoned well, spicy, not hot. Our waitress was very pleasant and welcoming. We look forward to visiting Red Rae's again very shortly. Great going guys!!!!
