Pros: Absolutely gorgeous emerald clear water. The jetty also provides excellent snorkel opportunities.
This park was breathtakingly beautiful. We went for Spring Break of 2017 in our new travel trailer and we were able to get waterfront. We had the last real cold front come through the week we were there but walked the beach looking for seashells, rented a pontoon when it warmed up to 50 degrees. Rented a golf cart to get around the park for a day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Property was well maintained. It was just a beautiful park to stay. Definitely will be going back but when it is warmer so we can do the snorkeling and other water sports. Paradise!
We brought our family here twice while staying in PCB. Both days were double red flag days but the bay side is calm and flat even on a double red flag day so it's a great area for kids. The first day the surf on the ocean side was much higher and apparently good for surfing and kite surfing. The second day was a little calmer so we took the kids over to play in the surf for a little while. It would have been great for boogie boarding. You can rent an umbrella and two chairs for $20 for the day (until 5). Well worth it if you're traveling by airplane and can't bring your own. The beach is clean and great for finding shells. There are restrooms and a small store with snacks, drinks, snow cones, water socks, sunscreen, etc.
This would be 5/5 if it weren't so packed. I come to state parks because I want to be with nature, not a beach party with cigarette smokers and loud radios.
Our new favorite place on Earth. Away from the Hustle and bustle, but still right in the middle of everything. Animals in our campsite every morning. Deer you can feed, Rabbits visiting, raccoon's on the beach. Perfect swimming spot if you have children.
Beautiful park with beach access. Gator Lake was a fun sight and I even got to see a baby gator right up close to the viewing area. If you're an outdoorsy type of person, you will enjoy visiting the park. I think the entrance fee was $18... a bit expensive imo but worth the sights.
Cons: Packed, packed, packed!!! The beach here is busy and overcrowded, but a lot of that has to do with the fact the main beach is very small. And we came in October, not summer! This park is also one of the most expensive Florida State Parks at $8/vehicle.
